Rough Draft

You are a rough draft.
An original piece of creativity.
Yet, you aren’t the best.

So you work on yourself.
The revisions and decisions
made in order to better.
To make it to the final draft.

But there’s no end.
No final you.
Only pages upon pages
of changes.
The previous words try to hide.
But the eraser marks leave the lie.

So you start over.
You throw the paper away.
You begin a new rough draft.
